COMMON QUESTIONS
Quick answers about the CDCP.
Not always. If your adjusted family net income is under $70,000 there is no co-payment. Between $70,000 and $90,000 you pay a portion of the CDCP fee. The CDCP also pays on its own fee schedule, which can differ from standard dental fees. We tell you exactly what your share is before any treatment starts. No surprises.
Yes. We submit your claims straight to Sun Life, the plan’s administrator, so you don’t pay up front and wait for reimbursement. You pay only your share, if you have one.
Apply online through the Government of Canada at canada.ca. You’ll need to have filed last year’s tax return. Once approved, Sun Life mails you a member card with your coverage start date. Bring it to your first visit and we’ll handle the rest.
The plan helps pay for a wide range of care, including exams, cleanings, fillings, root canals, and dentures. Some treatments need preauthorization first. Bring your card in and we’ll confirm what your coverage includes for the care you need.
